More About Engage Kiss
The Initiative of Aniplex Engage is a mixed-media project from Japan. The anime television series Engage Kiss, created by A-1 Pictures and scripted by Fumiaki Maruto with character designs by Tsunako, premiered in July 2022. Engage Kill, a smartphone game, has been announced by Square Enix.
Engage Kiss is a Bayron City-set future romantic comedy anime with action and fantasy elements.
Because Engage Kiss is an original anime, nothing is known about it other than what has been made public. The series was initially billed as a romantic comedy, but newer previews and the official synopsis (in Japanese) indicate that there will be a significant amount of action.
What we do know is that the metropolis in the story is powered by an unknown energy source. However, that source has also given birth to demons who cause disasters, and private military companies (PMCs) are in charge of protecting the city.
Shu, the protagonist, is a young freelance demon hunter whose bad spending habits regularly leave him impoverished. Kisara, one of his part-time employees, is worried about him. Ayano, Shu’s ex-girlfriend and elite agent at a PMC where Shu previously worked, does as well.
As a result, a love triangle develops in which each character’s personal and professional lives must be constantly balanced. After years as an episode director on Hunter x Hunter and other shows, Tomoya Tanaka directs Engage Kiss, his first major directing assignment.
The series’ script was written by Fumiaki Maruto, the original creator of critically acclaimed romances such as White Album 2 and SaeKano. Tsunako, who created many of the Date A Live series’ character designs, created the original character designs for Engage Kiss.
The first instalment of Endeavor Engage, a multimedia project that will also include a manga adaptation and a mobile application, is Engage Kiss. Takt Op Destiny, a fantasy-action anime that debuted in 2021, is comparable.
